Do you have credit card debt?
Can't get off the revolving loan merry-go-round?
I stopped in today, November 18, at the Five County Credit Union, in Downtown Rockland, where they are offering a 6.9% life of the loan, NO FEE FOR TRANSFER rate. You can transfer those credit cards for no fee, and pay them down. Probably, when you figure in the cost of the trasfer fees, you will come out ahead. This promotional rate expires February 1, 2012. Check it out, it could work for you.

General Assistance is intended to provide immediate aid within 24 hours of an application for people who are unable to maintain themselves or their families with basic necessities (food, shelter, utilities, fuel, clothing and other items when they are essential). It provides a safety net when citizens have no other resources available to them. It is considered to be the last resort when all other resources have been utilized.
Are you having difficulty paying your property taxes?
Please contact City Hall, at 207-594-0303 before you find yourself in the unfortunate position of facing a tax lien. I know how hard it is to ask for help: I've been there, and I still have times when I find myself up against a wall. I know what it is like to not have the money for your taxes or food. Please, please, do not suffer silently.
